About Us

We are a small studio we offer friendly high quality service with low potter to customer ratio given at all times, we have three rooms, our pottery wheel room , our workshop room which can seat up to 8 around a large table, our studio room that has two tables able to seat up to six. These numbers have allowed for comfortable social distancing and more private spaces.

Working Space

Our  space consists of a large open plan area, bathed in wonderful natural light and furnished with cosy infrared heaters to keep us warm when needed.

We divide the studios open plan space into glaze, handbuild and pottery wheel areas using rolling storage. This allows us to change and flex the space to suit customer needs. Along the side of the studio run a series of rooms that keep the general studio running out of the customers working space. They hold our office, studio rooms, reclaim production, customer storage, glazing space for spray booth and dipping, storage for clay and stock and the kiln room. The kitchen and bathroom are tucked neatly away at the back.

Within the glaze area we can seat up to 16 with tables that can be configured to suit. For glazing we stock a wide range of brush on glazes, a glaze booth, dipping glazes, oxides and the opportunity to develop your own glazes. All the tools you will need for a wide variety of techniques.

Within the hand building area we can seat up to 16 with tables that can be configured to suit. We have a large free standing table slab roller, an extruder, wedging tables, heat guns and a wide range of tools, formers and the mass of textures ten years of gathering creates.

For pottery wheels we have 7 x Rohde HMT600 with Rohde stools, 1 x skutt prodigy and then 3 x traditional professional wooden case wheels by Radcliffe and Alsager and 2 x shimpo tabletop portables and plenty of great tools to go with them.

There is shelving and wet boxes throughout for pot storage and keep pots safe, wedging tables and clay bins to hand.

Two pugmills, one for earthernware one for stoneware power our reclaim room and two top loading kilns a Rode and a Tucker run side by side  in the kiln room.
