A try on the wheel is something on many a bucket list due to its unique appeal! Throwing brings with it messy laughter filled fun, the magical transformation from mud to creation and let’s not forget that ‘Ghost’ connection! We provide this in a bite sized session to whet your whistle for pottery!

The pottery wheel experience session starts with a demonstration by the potter – you see the process of how to throw a pot from start to finish. Then comes your chance to throw one or possibly two of your own! The potter is with you every step of the way so you have plenty of support and guidance while you throw.

When it’s time to get cleaned up, you will need to put your initials your pot and complete a receipt – and don’t forget to take some pic’s!

Pots are ready for collection 3 – 5 weeks after your session.

Pottery wheel experience sessions are £30 per person, this includes clay and firing for one pot. If you throw more than one pot in the session you can choose your favourite to be fired, or pay for an additional firing (from £3).

Session times depend on the no. of people booking –
1 or 2 people 45min
3 or 4 people 1h 15min
5 or 6 people 1h 45min

Come on your own or book with friends and family to share the experience! You can book wheel session for between one and six people – we do not guarantee private bookings for single places – if you book a wheel session for one person, the other place will be offered, so you may be in a session with another person.

Sometimes only a one to one session will do and in the interest of full inclusion please call or email us if we need to tailor a session for you.

If you have a group of more than six, please contact Firefly by phone or email about combined wheel and hand building packages! Families, friends, birthdays, hen do’s, teambuilding we do it all!

Additional dates to those calendared may be available, so please email or call if you can’t fit in with our detailed offering.

Pottery Wheel experience sessions are suitable for adults and children age 8 and above.
If you are looking for sessions for children, we would also invite you to check out the pottery sessions running during school holidays, they are priced and tailored to suit child provision.
